There’s a number of logistics when putting together a group to attend an event away from home.  Below are a few of the most frequently asked questions.  While this is our attempt to get you information prior to arriving, we’re likely missing something.  Please feel free to contact us with any additional questions you may have as you prepare.

Where is Charge?

Charge will take place at Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City, MI from November 8-10, 2024.

How do we book our hotel rooms with Great Wolf Lodge?

When you register with Living Water Ministries you will be given a group code to use when securing your hotel room(s) at Great Wolf Lodge. Rooms at Great Wolf Lodge are $249 per night and house up to 6 participants (2 queen beds and a sleeper sofa). You will book your rooms directly with the Great Wold Lodge.

Who may attend Charge?

Students grades 6-12, and who are registered with a group accompanied by adults may attend.

How will middle school and high school students interact at Charge?

All students will participate as a community in worship together.  Small groups will be arranged by grades.  Skillshops will be selected by students, and a variety of options will exist that span all grade levels, and also some will be targeted to specific grade levels.  Housing for students in different grades is at the discretion of the church booking housing with Great Wolf Lodge.

Do you have a printable flyer?

Yes. Click HERE to download a printable flyer with Charge details.

How many adults do we send?

One adult leader, age 21 or older, must register for every 9 youth attending. Adult leaders pay the same registration fee as the youth. A background check will be performed by Living Water Ministries on each adult present at Charge upon registration.

What is my role as an adult leader?

As an adult leader your role is to care for the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the students you bring.  The students you are accompanying are in your care.  Supervision is a big part of this role, but equally so is the calling you have answered to build relationships with your students in order that once you return home you can help them build off of what they have experienced in your home congregation.  Your group of students will never rise above your level of attentiveness.  It’s important that you stay positive, engaged, and available.  Each night at Charge is congregational time.  This is an opportunity for you to facilitate a time of discussion, reflection, and sharing with your group that is centered on God.  Some groups use this time to do a devotion, others simply do “highs and lows.”

Does the registration fee include meals?

No. There are also a variety of restaurant options nearby.  Some groups bring meal supplies to host breakfast and lunches out of their hotel rooms for their groups.

Are there refrigerators in the hotel rooms?

Possibly. Groups are encouraged to bring coolers for food and beverages they wish to keep cool. Ice machines are readily available on each floor of the hotel.

Is water park access included with registration?

Yes, however water park access is tied to your room reservation at Great Wolf Lodge.  In the event that the room block at Great Wolf Lodge sells out (which is common), Living Water Ministries will have arranged housing at an alternative hotel property and water park access will still be included.  If groups choose to stay at another hotel property of their own choosing, access to the water park is not included.

When does water park access expire?

The program of Charge will conclude at approximately noon on Sunday. Water park access is available all weekend, including the entirety of the day on Sunday. Groups will need to check out of their sleeping rooms at the normal checkout time, but are welcome to stay on site to enjoy the water park on Sunday for as long as they wish.

Are cell phones permitted?

Yes, although we encourage their use be appropriate and respectful.

Is there a cost to parking?

No.
