Welcome Nicole McCarthy
The Living Water Ministries Board of Directors is pleased to welcome Nicole McCarthy as our Interim Director. Nicole’s journey with Living Water Ministries began in middle school as a confirmation camper at both Camp Michi-lu-ca and Stony Lake, and her commitment to camp and its mission of bringing together all of God’s children for experiences of faith, leadership, and service has been unwavering ever since.
Nicole served on summer staff at Stony Lake for six memorable summers in a variety of roles and then joined LWM’s year-round team as the Program Innovator in 2015. Since 2021 Nicole has served as the Director of Operations and her faithfulness to camp and the communities it creates has only grown.
Nicole brings a wealth of experience and passion for Living Water Ministries’ mission. In her words, “This is my ninth year working full time for LWM, and while I feel very comfortable leading this ministry where it is, I’m most excited to dream big and keep moving us forward – through programs, partnerships, and fundraising.” Nicole looks forward to experiencing camp from a different vantage point and is committed to making this summer a great one for each camper LWM welcomes.
Please join me in extending a warm welcome to Nicole as she steps into this new role. We look forward to this chapter under her leadership and are grateful for her continued dedication to Living Water Ministries during this time of transition.
Peace,
Adam Michoski

Executive Director Transition
With thanks to God for 18 years of service, dedication, and a vision for a renewed camping ministry in the lower peninsula of Michigan, the Board of Directors announces the resignation of Mr. C.J. Clark as Executive Director of Living Water Ministries effective March 1, 2024. C.J. has accepted the position of Assistant to the Bishop and Director of Evangelical Mission for the Southeast Michigan Synod, starting March 4.
At a meeting held January 23, members of the Board expressed their thanks for C.J.’s leadership, and wished him well as he begins a new chapter of ministry. C.J’s time at LWM was marked by the sale of Michi-Lu-Ca and the subsequent re-investment in camp programs at Stony Lake, including the implementation of our award winning Bridge Builders program, completion of the new cabin, high-ropes course, diversity of staff, and the development of the annual Run the Race event that has become both a significant point of connection and major fundraiser for LWM.
Additionally, as we moved into the post-pandemic season, C.J. helped position LWM to offer no- and low-cost opportunities for campers to experience a week of Christian community at Stony Lake. The commitment to an inclusive welcome for every camper (along with an innovative pricing structure and the resources to make it sustainable) have given LWM a national profile among Christian camping ministries. C.J.’s leadership was essential to get us to this point.
As we look forward to a new season of camping ministry, the Board has invited Ms. Nicole McCarthy, LWM Director of Operations, to serve as Interim Director. We are grateful for her leadership and service, and look forward to beginning a search for a new Executive Director in the coming months. In the meanwhile, the Board gives thanks to God for the ministry we have done together with C.J., and will keep him, his family and our LWM partners in our prayers as we move ahead.
