Goals and Outcomes of Your Living Water Ministries Camp Experience
1. Campers will state an awakening, renewal, sustaining, or strengthening in their relationship with Christ.
2. Campers will state an awakening, renewal, sustaining, or strengthening in their relationship with other campers from their congregation.
3. Campers will state an awakening, renewal, sustaining, or strengthening in their relationship with other campers from around the state.
4. Campers will state a sense of being part of a larger Christian Community.
5. Campers will state a positive change in their self esteem as a result of their week at camp.
6. Elementary and Junior High aged campers will express a sense of independence for having stayed away from home.
7. Campers will express a personal growth in overcoming a personal challenge they faced in the week.

Notification of Parents in the event of Injury or Illness:
Parents or Guardians will be promptly notified by the Health Officer in Case of serious injury or of an illness that affects the camper’s participation in camp activities for more than one day.
Off-Site Activities at Michi-Lu-Ca and Stony Lake:
Horseback Riding at Michi-Lu-Ca:
Michi-Lu-Ca Horseback Riding occurs at the Kare Free Ranch in Fairview. Kare Free will take up to 11 campers per riding session providing well cared for, groomed, and trained horses for each camper as well as Horseback Riding helmets. Campers will ride a trail on walking horses through fields and woods with skilled, trained, guides at the front and back of the line. The entire trip takes about 1 hour.
Horseback Riding at Stony Lake:
Stony Lake Horseback Riding occurs at the Rainbow Ranch in New Era. Rainbow Ranch will take up to 30 campers per riding session providing well cared for, groomed, and trained horses for each camper. Campers are provided helmets by Stony Lake for each trip. Campers will ride a trail on walking horses through fields and woods with skilled, trained, guides at the front and back of the line. The entire trip takes about 1 hour.
Canoeing at Michi-Lu-Ca:
Michi-Lu-Ca Canoe Trip: The Michi-Lu-Ca Canoe Trip will start at the Mio Dam on the Ausable River using either Hinchman Acres Canoe Livery or Michi-Lu-Ca’s own canoe equipment. All campers are required to wear a life vest and will be accompanied by Michi-Lu-Ca staff including trained Lifeguards. Campers will be on the river for 1.5 to 3 hours depending on their speed at paddling and the strength of the current. They will end at Comins Flats. Campers are encouraged to bring a second pair of shoes to camp if they are going on the canoe trip in the event that their canoe pair gets wet.
Canoeing at Stony Lake:
Stony Lake Canoe Trip: The Stony Lake Canoe Trip will start in Hesperia on the White River using either Kellogg's Canoe Livery or Stony Lake's own canoe equipment. All campers are required to wear a life vest and will be accompanied by Stony Lake staff including trained Lifeguards. Campers will be on the river for 1.5 to 3 hours depending on their speed at paddling and the strength of the current. They will end at Pines Point. Campers are encouraged to bring a second pair of shoes to camp if they are going on the canoe trip in the event that their canoe pair gets wet.
High Ropes at Michi-Lu-Ca:
Michi-Lu-Ca High Ropes: Michi-Lu-Ca has a three element High Ropes course in a triangular configuration. Our High Ropes course is approximately 30 feet from the ground in strong canopy layer trees. Campers challenge themselves individually on each element while wearing required safety gear and belay. Trained Michi-Lu-Ca counselors keep a very close and watchful eye to provide emergency “take down” procedures in the event of a frightened camper. 6-8 campers participate in this experience at a time for about 1 hour.
High Ropes at Stony Lake:
Stony Lake High Ropes: Stony Lake has a 5 element High Ropes course. Our High Ropes course is approximately 30 feet from the ground in strong canopy layer trees. Campers challenge themselves individually on each element while wearing required safety gear and belay. Trained Stony Lake staff keep a very close and watchful eye to provide emergency “take down” procedures in the event of a frightened camper. 6-15 campers participate in this experience at a time for about 1-2 hours.
Swimming in Lake Michigan at Stony Lake:
Stony Lake campers visit Lake Michigan for a 2 hour period of time for games on the beach and swimming. This trip occurs during a normally scheduled waterfront time. Campers are transported via school bus to Claybanks Township Park where they take stairs down to the beach for this afternoon activity. Swimming is monitored by trained lifeguards and aquatic observers from the Stony Lake staff.
Silver Lake Sand Dunes Trip at Stony Lake:
Stony Lake campers visit the Silver Lake Sand Dunes for a 2-3 hour period of time for an experience hiking the dunes, swimming in Silver Lake, and games. This trip occurs during waterfront & afternoon programming time. Campers are transported via school bus to Silver Lake State Park where they hike up the dunes and out to the site for swimming led by Stony Lake staff. Swimming is monitored by trained lifeguards and aquatic observers from the Stony Lake staff.
